Academic History module of the Sapphire Student Information System (SIS) tracks a student's historical information. This integrated module is flexible and simple to use, allowing the user to maintain student transcript information on each student, including courses taken, grades received, credits, and the subject area. Information spans all previous years for which the student has relevant course work from the current and other institutions.
All grading metrics such as GPA, NGA, attempted, and earned credits are handled by a fully configurable, rules-based calculator. Calculator can handle an unlimited number of metrics that provide an array of answers. Some examples are weighted and unweighted calculations in addition to including or excluding partially completed course grades. The rules-based calculator completely handles the recording of earned credits based on what the course was worth, any weighting factors and how the student performed. Sapphire's calculator returns very high precision using configurable rules that result in reliable, consistent and error-free results.
